YOU AND THE FUTURE exhibition

The Hague University aims to add to its art collection with a new, up-to-date artwork which fits in with the existing collection as well as with the experiences of the community and in particular those of the students at The Hague University.

Who are these students and what interests them? These questions are at the basis of the JUST A FEW SECONDS project.
With this project, social designer Jennefer Verbeek and artist Johan Nieuwenhuize aim to offer a present-day view of the students’ perception of the world.

The project consists of three so-called actions that took place in the atrium of The Hague University of Applied Sciences: The mood board, the photo studio and the toilet cubicles. The results can be seen in this exhibition.

Together the mood board, the portraits and statements form a dataset. Artists who participate in the art commission can use it to for inspiration for their outline of their idea.
Three artists are chosen from all outline ideas to make a sketch design. One of these designs will eventually be executed.

The exhibition will also include the recently published JUST A FEW SECONDS book, about the art collection.
