Annemarie Bleeker

Annemarie Bleeker (b. 1966, Emmen, The Netherlands) was trained at the Academy for Art and Design in Enschede.
Initially she worked in photography, but after the mid-1990s devoted herself to sculpture, and likewise produced textile compositions.

In 2011 she published her debut novel, Roedel (Flock), about a woman’s relational problems. Seven years later followed her second novel, Trijp (Rip), about the war trauma of a young soldier.

As in her photography, in her novels she focuses on individuals, and the events, big and small, that make the difference in daily life.
