In the collection The University of Applied Sciences are Corbijn’s portraits of the Irish singer-songwriter Sinéad O’Connor, the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, Slash, and of the Italian actor Isabella Rossellini.

Through the printing process Corbijn uses, known as lith print, he is able to achieve a graphic effect which enhances the grain of the negative film and emphasise the dark tones and highlights. With his characteristic rough style, Corbijn has made an important contribution to the visual history of international pop culture.
